The road to perfection…

…is LONG.  Very, very long.  Think of any famous author.  Lord of the Rings took years to write and complete.  The world of Middle-earth has to be the most intricate, complex, and real world ever put to paper, and this huge world wasn’t made in one day.  (Rome wasn’t built in one day, as the saying goes.)  It took twelve years.  I’m sure we’ve all heard J.K. Rowling spend years in coffee shops writing her books out on the tablecloth.  Let’s face it: perfection, infamy, and success takes years to develop.  (It seems the longer the better.)  As I always say, stupidity takes a second; genius takes years.  So I guess you could say if writing your book is taking a long time, that’s a good sign.  If you’re never satisfied, if you’re always striving to be better, for you style to be more appealing, your characters more real, your plot more intricate, and for general enhancement, that’s good.  You’re on the right track.
