Well, I’m done with Nano! Actually, I got 50,000+ two days ago, but I wasn’t done filling in the gaps until an hour ago. But here we are! Now comes the fun part; marrying Nano writings with the other stuff I’ve got. It really is a lot of fun because it’s already written and all I gotta do is edit it a little here and there.
On the other hand… I don’t know who it was, but someone said finishing a story is like taking your favorite kid out into the front yard and shooting him. I’m starting to feel that way. There’s nothing more exciting and nothing more heart-breaking than finishing a story. Writers are completely crazy; the one thing we work toward is finishing a story and the one thing we hate is doing so. Yeah, we make no sense. I’m so excited to finish this tale at last; it’s meant to be told. But on the other hand, I’m going to miss it so much it hurts. These characters, they’ve been my best friends for almost two years and their world has been my get-away. It’s gonna be awhile before it’s really and truly done, but the end’s in sight and it sure scares me. Great, now I’m depressed.
I am so writing a sequel to this story.
